Granthis

Yoga  Granthi  Grihastha

It breaks the three Granthis or knots viz., Brahma Granthi, Vishnu Granthi and Rudra Granthi. It destroys phlegm which is the bolt or obstacle to the door at the mouth of Brahma Nadi (Sushumna). It enables one to know the Kundalini.


Miller explains that are energetic knots that block the flow of prana in the body. You can think of them as places where you feel "tangled up.

The practice of bandhas addresses the granthis. Moola bandha(7) lifts energy and begins the process of bringing repressed experiences into conscious awareness.

After learning the Srutis for sometime from a Guru, you will have to reflect and meditate alone, in entire seclusion, whereas in Kundalini Yoga you will have to break up the and take the Kundalini from Chakra to Chakra.

Apart from bringing a number of wholesome physiological changes, Bhastrika Kumbhaka pierces the three knots or the Granthis. The Yoga-Kundalini Upanishad then proceeds to prescribe the practice of the three Bandhas, for the Yogic student.

The bandhas are associated with the three (knots) and as such provide the motive power to unlock spiritual dimensions or lokas as well (Brahma Loka, Vishnu Loka, and Rudra Loka or Nirmana Kaya, Sambhoga Kaya, and Dharma Kaya).
